Our Meteora Hiking Tour begins in Kastraki, the traditional village beneath the impressive rock formations. We meet the group, explain the activity and route, and complete a final equipment check before starting the hike.
We set off along historic hiking trails, walking through woodland, natural passages and spectacular rock formations. The route offers opportunities to experience the quieter side of Meteora while enjoying views of the surrounding landscape and monasteries.
During the hike, your Certified Mountain Leader will explain the history of the area, the geological processes that shaped the rock pillars, the monastic tradition and the local natural environment. We will stop at suitable viewpoints to enjoy the scenery and take photographs.
If the group wishes and time permits, there may be an opportunity to visit one of the monasteries open to visitors. This is optional and depends on opening hours and the schedule. The visit is not guaranteed, and monastery entrance fees are not included in the tour price.
