This exclusive two-day private ascent is designed for those who wish to discover the true alpine character of Mount Olympus in complete safety and with professional guidance. From the panoramic summits of Skolio and Skala, to the breathtaking Plateau of the Muses and the exciting ascent to Mytikas via the historic Louki Gully, every stage of the journey offers a unique and memorable experience.

All ascents are conducted on a private basis, ensuring a personalized experience, maximum flexibility, and the opportunity to enjoy Mount Olympus at your own pace.

Activity Itinerary

Day 1 – Ascent to the Plateau of the Muses

The adventure begins with pickup from either Litochoro or Larissa, followed by a transfer in specially equipped 4x4 vehicles to the hiking starting point.

From there, we begin our ascent towards the Plateau of the Muses, enjoying spectacular alpine scenery while gradually gaining elevation. Upon arrival, we settle into the mountain refuge where we spend the night surrounded by the magnificent landscape of Mount Olympus.

Day 2 – Summit Ascent to Mytikas

After breakfast at the refuge, we begin the highlight of the expedition.

The ascent to Mytikas follows the famous Louki Gully, using specialized mountaineering equipment provided by Mountain Element whenever required. After reaching Greece's highest summit and enjoying the incredible panoramic views, we descend and return to our vehicles for the transfer back.

The summit ascent to Mytikas is carried out only when weather conditions and mountain conditions allow it. The safety of all participants is our highest priority.

Should adverse weather, mountain conditions, or any other safety-related factor arise, the Certified Mountain Leader has the sole authority to cancel the summit attempt or modify the itinerary, route, or destination of the activity whenever necessary.

The guide's decision is final and is made exclusively in the interest of ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.

Activity Duration

Overnight: Refuge Yosos Apostolidis (2,700 m)

DAY 1 — Ascent & Summits

We meet at Larissa Train Station and begin our drive toward Mount Olympus. The total drive is approximately 2 hours, including 30 minutes on paved road and the remaining time on off-road terrain, until we reach the Christakis Emergency Refuge at 2,550 m altitude.

From this point, our hike officially begins.

  1. Summit Skala – 2,867 m
    We ascend first to Skala, enjoying open views and high-altitude alpine terrain.
  2. Traverse to Skolio – 2,912 m
    From Skala, we continue to Skolio, the second-highest accessible peak of Olympus, where panoramic views of the entire mountain range unfold.
  3. Descent to the Plateau of the Muses
    After completing the summits of the day, we descend toward the historic Plateau of the Muses, an extraordinary alpine field located beneath the iconic “Zeus Throne” rock formation.

Overnight: Refuge Yosos Apostolidis (2,700 m)

We arrive at Refuge Yosos Apostolidis, where we rest for the night, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the next day’s ascent.

DAY 2 — Ascent to Mytikas (Highest Summit of Greece)

We wake early and enjoy breakfast at the refuge. After preparing our backpacks and equipment, we begin our approach to the summit.

Ascent to Mytikas – 2,917 m

This is the highest peak of Greece, reached by the classic scrambling route. With guidance from our certified mountain leader, the ascent is done safely and steadily.

After enjoying time at the summit for photos and rest, we begin our descent, following the mountain path back toward the starting point.

Return to Larissa

Once back at the vehicles, we drive to Larissa, where the tour concludes at the original meeting point.
